Beauty and the Beast by Stevens Puppets

Beauty and the Beast by Stevens Puppets In-Person

World-renowned Stevens Puppets will bring the story of Beauty and the Beast to life at Rodman Public Library at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11.

The marionette show, described by audiences as exceptional and enchanting, is full of chuckles and drama in its rendition of the classic fairy tale written by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and first published in 1740.

Both touching and humorous, artistic staging and clever effects accented with harp music bring the ever-popular story to life in the 45-minue show that is fun for the entire family.

Stevens Puppets, originally from Middlebury, Indiana, is celebrating 80 years of producing one of a kind productions for children with marionettes authentically created in the traditional old-world style.

The program is free, thanks to support from Friends of Rodman Library, but space is limited and registration is required at rodmanlibrary.com.
